The telling of current events that are newsworthy through television, radio, or the internet.



List and describe the six criteria of newsworthiness.

2. significance-how many people it impacts-9/11

3. prominence - important and famous people-Joan rivers dying

4. proximity-how local it is-weather or traffic

5. timeliness -how current it is-weather

6. human interest-feel good stories-a new baby animal at the zoo




What are the differences between print journalism and broadcast journalism?
1.Broadcast journalism is much more current and is live.

2.Print journalism allows you to control how you view the news.

3.Print journalism has more detail than broadcast journalism.


How is the Internet impacting broadcast journalism?
The internet is the best of broadcast and print journalism so it decreases TV ratings and newspaper subscriptions.
